David teaches Sport and Recreation Administration at the University of Mississippi, a position he has held since 2006.  Prior to teaching, he served in four different recreation and sports ministry positions for over twenty years in Texas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.

David received his Bachelor of Science in Leisure Studies from Missouri State University and his Master of Religious Education with an emphasis in Church Recreation from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is the published author of three books, Characters of the Bible: Finding My Stories in Their Stories, Holiday Biblical Characters: Finding My Stories in the Stories of Christmas and Easter, and Worship Wars: The Kings Lead the Battle to Spirit and Truth. In addition, he has written for various magazines and submitted chapters for textbooks and other professional publications.

David has presented various workshop topics for International Church Sports and Recreation Ministry Summits, Rec Labs, ReachGatherings, and other regional and local conferences.

David enjoys time spent with friends and family, including his twelve grandchildren.
