David teaches Sport and Recreation Administration at the University of Mississippi, a position he has held since 2006.  Prior to teaching he served in four different recreation and sports ministry positions for over twenty years in Texas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.

David received his Bachelor of Science in Leisure Studies from Missouri State University and his Master of Religious Education with an emphasis in Church Recreation from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is the published author of two books, Characters of the Bible: Finding My Stories in Their Stories and Holiday Biblical Characters: Finding My Stories in the Stories of Christmas and Easter. In addition he has written for various magazines and submitted chapters for textbook consideration.

David has presented a variety of workshop topics for Church Sports and Recreation Ministry Summits, Rec Labs, ReachGatherings, and assorted regional and local conferences.

David enjoys time spent with friends and family, including his ten grandchildren.
