UM (HESRM) professors probe effects of heat index at World Cup
UM professors have determined that the heat index greatly affects athletes’ performance in the World Cup. Nick Watanabe and Grace Yan, both assistant professors in UM’s Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management, joined Pamela Wicker of German Sport University Cologne in studying the effect of weather conditions, travel distances and rest days on running performance.
