Taken from the Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Dr. Ovuokerie Addoh, a Doctoral Student at the University of Mississippi in theHealth, Exercise Science, and Recreational Management department, shares his article appearing in the June 2016 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, which provides supportive evidence for the ACC/AHA algorithms for assessing all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality risk status and reminds clinicians of the importance of promoting the adoption of health-enhancing behaviors (e.g., exercise) and the avoidance of health-compromising behaviors (e.g., smoking), with their patients.
