Practicum and Internship
Either ES 473 (Practicum) or ES 493 (Internship) is a requirement for the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (BSES) at The University of Mississippi. The practical application of professional course work is a crucial element in the education of students who are preparing for careers in Exercise Science. The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management at The University of Mississippi provides students extensive practical learning experiences under the direction of an Agency Supervisor and an Exercise Science Practicum Advisor. The major goal of both the practicum and internship program is to bridge the gap between classroom theory and job realities.
ES 473- Practicum (3 Credits)
Prerequisites
- Senior, 2.5 GPA ES Core, Instructor Appr
- Pre-Requisite: 23 credit hours required in ES core courses
ES 493- Internship (12 Credits)
Prerequisites
- Senior, 2.5 GPA ES Core, Instructor Appr
- All ES core: ES 100, ES 338, ES 346/347, ES 348/349, ES 350, ES 351, ES 391, ES 440, ES 446, ES 456 and ES 457
- 9 hours of Professional Studies courses from ES 402, ES 394, NHM 311, HP 303, ES 490, ES 471, Mgmt 371, PRM 471, ES 344, ES 396 or HP 312.
